Welcome

The Duluth/Superior Alpine Club programs provide the opportunity for skiers 7-19 years old to learn this life-long sport and develop and refine their alpine and freestyle skiing skills through competitive skiing. Racing/competition opportunities begin at the local club level and extend to the more competiti

43Training takes place primarily at Spirit Mountain throughout the ski season. Older skiers may take part in spring, summer and fall dryland workouts held at various locations and Fall Camp at Winter Park, CO. We have national (USSA) and international (FIS) level, as well as high school racing.

Young skiers also learn the life lessons of fitness, goal setting, preparation, teamwork, communication and setting a good example for others through the DSAC program. DSAC alpine and freestyle programs provide a rare opportunity for both athletes AND parents to pursue their passion for a life-long sport, together. Parental involvement is a hallmark of our program.

DSAC is funded through team fees and annual fund raising events: the Ski Swap, Holiday Camp, the Atmore Memorial Cup, the Patron’s Fund, our sponsorship program and other fundraising activities intended to make participation affordable.

Ski racing is not inexpensive.  Several years ago the G. Scott Ransom Scholarship Fund was established as a way for Team Duluth athletes to apply for funds to help offset the costs associated with training and racing. Interested athletes are encouraged to apply for scholarships.  The scholarships are administered by the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation.  For more information see the Scholarship page of our website.

The Duluth/Superior Alpine Club is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, and is operated by a volunteer Board of Directors and paid professional coaches.

DSAC is pleased to have Spirit Mountain as its home base since 1979, site of the prestigious Atmore Memorial FIS race each year.
